Reversing 8 out of 10 decisions shows that this present Oyo government is not rational – Akintola

Chief Niyi Akintola, a senior advocate of Nigeria and a political icon in the state earlier today, Friday June 12 spoke over the stagnancy in democracy, stressing the fact that we are still on the journey to democracy and not yet at the right standard of its reality.
Chief Akintola made known in an interview with Double A Exclusive Media, the unforgettable part he took in the Chief MKO Abiola’s June 12 crises. “…certainly not but the journey of a thousand miles start with a step.” He said.
According to him, the influence of the traditional rulers cannot be over emphasized as Alaafin of Oyo, Awujale and the late Oni of Ife never betrayed the struggles but to have suffered alot and stood by the group during the whole struggles.”
In his reaction to the present Oyo state government, he stated his friendship bond with Gov. Seyi Makinde to remain strong and mutual as he believed the government is not rational enough when it comes to decision making.
He said, many decisions made by Makinde’s government are always reverted due to lack of logic unlike Ajimobi’s tenure known for sound decision making.
“I was the first to congratulate Makinde on COVID-19 center at Olodo because I was there and I will never be part of destructive critcism. This present government is indecisive in decision making, reversing 8 of 10 decisions shows that this present Oyo government is not rational.”
He therefore advised the current government led by Engr. Seyi Makinde to maintain the rule of law and ensure no violence in the state.
“…maintainance of the rule of law, there should be no violence, no thugry and no hooliganism. The government should learn from the past experiences. The state should not be turned to a theater of war where thugs will take over the street like we had in the past.” He said.
Also, he pleaded with the good people of Oyo state to always learn to maintain peace in the society.
