Jonathan Ayuba, Chairman of the screening committee, said this while presenting his report to Adams Oshiomhole, APC National Chairman, at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja on Thursday.  Also disqualified were Chris Ogiemwonyi and Matthew Aigbuhuenze Iduoriyekemwen. Ayuba said Obaseki was disqualified over a “defective” certificate. He said, “In our view of the issues raised, we concluded that the higher school certificate was defective. “The NYSC certificate and act of the aspirant taking the party to court, these are some of the issues we have attached and based on the party’s constitution, this has made us to recommend that Godwin Obaseki is not eligible to participate in the governorship primary.” On his part, Oshiomhol...

The police have arraigned three men, Ekong Ekwere, Iniobong Abraham and Kazeem Otapo, before the Ogun State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Agbara for alleged electricity meter bypass, theft and assault on employees of the Eko Electricity Distribution Company. The defendants were arraigned before Magistrate B.O. Ilo on five counts bordering on felony, stealing, breach of the peace and assault. It was gathered that the defendants allegedly stole a prepaid meter valued at N739,350.92 and Ekwere illegally received electricity units valued at N301,000, while Otapo reportedly assaulted two employees of the EKEDC while they were performing their lawful duties. The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges. The magistrate admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety each in like sum. He ordered that the defendants should be remanded in the Ibara Correctional Centre pending the perfection of their bail terms and adjourned the matter till July 7 for trial. The General ...

An Ogun State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Abeokuta has sentenced a 20-year-old man, Musa Anifowose, to two years’ imprisonment for raping an eight-year-old girl. The convict had pleaded guilty to the one count of sexual abuse. The prosecutor, Bukola Abolade, told the court that the convict sexually abused the girl when her mother sent her on an errand. Abolade said the victim’s mother observed blood stains on her legs, clothe and private parts. According to the prosecutor, the offence contravened Section 33 of the Child Rights Law of Ogun State. She told the court that the convict committed the offence on May 1, 2020, around 9am at No. 6 Agbaje Street, Sabo, Ijebu-Ode. Abolade added that the convict accosted the girl and forcefully took her to an abandoned building beside the Sabo abattoir and had carnal knowledge of her. “When the victim got home, her mother noticed blood stains on her clothe. Kemi has revealed that Chioma has moved out of Davido’s house and was at the motorpark. According to her, the chefchi, as she is popularly called has headed straight to her hometown and it is probably because Davido’s 4th baby mama Larissa popped up. “Chioma has moved out.
